Tutorial Available – Pivoting Levered Boxes featuring the Amazing Paper Grace Picot Petite Squares

Hello!  If you would like to learn how to make this fun project I’ve posted, then I want to invite you to join the Amazing Paper Grace – Creative Encouragement Community Facebook page for a step-by-step tutorial that I have posted! The tutorial is in Units under the “I See 3D” section.  Here is the link to use: https://www.facebook.com/groups/APGCreativeEncouragement.    Be sure to answer the membership questions once you request access to the Facebook page.

Many call this project a “cantilever sewing box.”  As a matter of fact, my inspiration came from my grandmother’s heavy wicker “crochet basket” that was made just like this, only much larger.  I remember she placed all her skeins of yarn along with her project she was working on at the time in the lower box, and used the upper boxes for crochet needles, scissors, measuring tapes, and pins.  My grandmother passed away many years ago, but that is always how I picture her – sitting in her chair with her crochet basket next to her.

As most of you who visit my blog know, I love creating 3D projects with the bases made from boxes or frames.  Here is the link to my dimensional category: https://tarascraftstudio.com/?cat=93

I enjoy taking ideas from unique boxes such as this one, and turning them into a unique papercraft project.   There are many versions of tutorials for this type of box, but this one was made to fit the dimensions of the lovely Spellbinders Picot Petite Squares from Amazing Paper Grace by Becca Feeken.  I wanted to create a tutorial that was sturdy and durable based on my experience with making boxes, and apply it to work with the Picot Petite Square dies, so I hope you will try this tutorial and be happy with the result!
I posted this exact same project back on October 13, 2020 and since I received some positive feedback on it, I decided to provide a tutorial for it.  Here is the link to the October 13, 2020 post featuring this same project:

The “must-have” die for this unique levered box is the Picot Petite Squares Etched Dies Picot Petite Collection from Amazing Paper Grace by Becca Feeken.

Be sure to join me Friday for the tutorial on the Amazing Paper Grace – Creative Encouragement Community Facebook page!

Gorgeous Tara! I love the one you made in October and love that you’re sharing the tutorial! I have a cantilever sewing box that was my grandma’s and this looks and works just like it! ❤❤

Thank you Beth! And welcome to my blog! My grandmother also had one that she used for her crocheting. It was a heavy wicker basket and even though I don’t know what happened to it after she passed, I always think of her sitting in her chair with this basket at her side! Wonderful memories! I hope your week is great! Tara
