Amazing Paper Grace August Die of the Month Blog Hop – Pop Up 3D Vignette

Hold the phone!!!  It has been an exciting week for us all!!  We’ve been waiting with bated breath to announce our Creative Team!  Many are waiting for their dies to arrive but two of our newest designers are joining in today.  Today we are sharing the Amazing Paper Grace Die of the Month for August 2020 –  Pop up 3D Vignette Telephone.  It’s super cute and guaranteed to bring a smile!

Becca Feeken with Amazing Paper Grace supplied the dies for my use today.

Pop Up 3D Vignette Phone Details

We’ve spent all month making funny phone jokes and puns!  Do you realize this little relic is something that most teenyboppers haven’t seen in person?  Just as with the typewriter, the phone is an iconic part of our history and technology.  Ever evolving, this phone will always be a part of our coming of age.  During the month we played “I Spy” to peek into how folks were using this die and this is what we found:

  1. A shaker card
  2. A notepad holder
  3. A mini 4-page scrapbook (which will hold Instax pictures)
  4. A gift card holder
  5. A card with multiple sentiments
  6. A basket

We’re sure there are more, but in the meantime, here is some additional inspiration to pique your creativity.

There are SIXTEEN dies included in the Telephone Set

My Project Today using 3D Vignette Telephone

For the August Die of the Month blog hop, my goal was to demonstrate the tremendous versatility of this die by showing two different variations on what could be done with it.  My above telephone boxes show one great way to use this fantastic die.  The below variation is the project with an extra card holder to show that it can be expanded.  So this one holds 8 cards instead of just the 4.  In addition, I sandwiched one main phone die in between the card holders and two main phone dies on each end.  These three main phone dies were made into small boxes to hold multiple other cards within the three boxes.  So it became a full-fledged mini-album!  Each of the boxes were packed with multiple cards, which together, make a 3d phone receiver for each box.

Designer Tip:
Use your imagination to turn flat dies into dimensional projects!  Simply cut two of the die pieces, and then create tabbed walls and a floor to attach the two dies together to make a dimensional box.  Use a strong adhesive such as Scor-Tape for the tabs and then carefully adhere the tabs to the die cuts following the contour of the die cut to form the walls.

That´s weird, I just wrote a long message for you, but when I hit post comment it all disappeared in thin air???
But what I was saying was, that you just amaze me here once again with your fabulous talent for making the most fabulous projects always, and like I said on Facebook, then your talent for creating and Beccas fabulous talent for designing are just a match made in heaven. You are both two of the most talented people, I´ve ever come across and I soo admire both of you, so to see you paired up like this is a dream come true, that´s for sure.
I just absolutely LOVE your phone here, just like everything else, that comes from your magic hands, and I would really LOVE to be able to spend a day with you sometime and just watch your magic hands work and maybe e able to look inside your clever brain and see where all your outstanding ideas comes from ha ha.
Have a wonderful week-end ahead now and stay safe everyone.
