Violin Box Remake

Hello! I made one of these violin boxes several years ago, but have remade them using Pion Design’s newest paper collection New Beginnings. Check out this post also on Pion Design’s blog here. You can also find this project posted on the Crafteezee-Shop Blogspot here.

The flat violin face was made using a cutting file from the Pazzles library, and I then made it into a 3D box.

It makes for a very special and unique gift box. I have also used these violin boxes to hold violin-shaped mini albums, as well as to store photos. You can even use it as home decor!
Have a great day!

Hi Bobbie, Thank you for your inspirational comments! Since I used an element from the Pazzles library, I won’t be able to post a cutting file, however, if you have an electronic cutting machine, you can access the cutting file for the violin face from Pazzles (I provided a link to that particular file on my blog). Once you have that cutting file, making the box is easy, and I can certainly help you out with that if you will reach out to me again. Again, thank you for your lovely words – I am so grateful to you for posting! Tara

I have been following you for years, since the time you were in the Pazzles design group, but actually never commented before. Your artistic taste, constructors skills, attention to details, your own distinct style have been amazing me since I first saw your works. I am sure you have inspired many people as you have inspired me. Thank you,Tara.

Hello Tara, I am in LOVE with your Violin Box. Do you have the SVG files available to make the entire violin box project? I use a Cricut Maker. Also, I see a nunber of your projects use Pion and Pazzle. Is there a way to purchase individual files from them without paying a subscription? Thanks for your assistance.

    1. Tara Brown

Hi Robyn! I’m so glad you like the violin box. I have visited with Pazzles about this violin box and so the file may be available at some point in the future on their blog. I am not sure if Pazzles will allow you to purchase individual files, but you can always reach out to them and see if they will. Have a great week! Tara

    Hi Tara,
I really love this project and have decided to FINALLY make it. I was wondering what you used for the strings and where you found the scrolls and how long are they? Are they wood?
Thanks for all your wonderful ideas and templates!

    1. Tara Brown

Hi Frieda, Thank you for your kind words! The strings are made from ivory embroidery thread. The scrolls are Scrapiniec chipboard and they measure about 3.0 inches in length. They can be found here: https://www.crafteezee.co.uk/ourshop/prod_6084438-Scrapiniec-Fantasma-Square-Frame.html
Of course the Pazzles violin face cutting file has the scrolls already included to be cut, but I just added the chipboard scrolls for added visual interest. I hope this helps! I hope your project turns out great! Tara
