Vintage Era Accordions
This project was designed and handmade using chipboard and Pion Design papers from their Paris Flea Market and For Father collections. I made it as a Pion Design Team project and you can also find it featured on their blog here. The bellows design is the same concept for what was used for my camera and projector projects, only there is no taper to the bellows on this project. The two side boxes open in the back to hold photos. Each box measures 3 1/2″ x 5 1/2″ so it’s pretty good-sized. The chain you see in the front is also present in the back. It keeps the accordion in it’s tapered, bowed position.

Then accordions are lovely. They made me smile remembering all the hours my parents made me practice playing one as a child.

Dear Tara
Your work is extraordinary and beautiful. Do you sell the cutting files for all these beautiful projects? If so, where can I find them. Kind regards, Barb

Hi Tara, can you tell me about how you made those flips?
Tara Brown
Hi, I don’t have a tutorial or templates ready for this project yet. I am in the middle of moving, but once I am settled, I will provide a tutorial and templates at some point. Tara
Roopa
I am still waiting for the template and tutorial as well.. Thanks Tara

Hi Roopa, the tutorial for this project can be found on my October 8 blog post “Camera with Tutorial and Cutting File”. This is the same project as the accordion only made into a camera. Tara

Tara, this is beautiful! I HAVE to have it. Do you have the files for the accordion yet? My dad played since he was 9 years old and he passed away in April at age 76. This would be perfect for my sister and myself. He would have loved it.

Hi Sharon, yes it is ready but I am waiting for Pion Design to publish it on their blog – the post will include the tutorial, templates and cutting files. As soon as they publish it on their blog, I will publish it on mine. Although the upcoming project and tutorial is for a camera photo album, it is the same template as the accordion and can be made to be an accordion easily by curving the bellows and adding chains to support the curve.
