Amazing Paper Grace August Die of the Month Blog Hop – Lattice Petal Foldover

It’s a square card front! It’s an envelope! It’s both!! In the transformers world of dies, we love for our dies to be used in many different ways. This die was designed to function as both a card front and for the petals to fold over to enclose a notecard. The pretty lattice filigree is just the icing on top. Welcome to your stash, the Amazing Paper Grace Die of the Month for August 2021 – Lattice Petal Foldover.

You asked and we listened. Our May 2020 Die of the Month was so popular that we made a slightly smaller, dainty version. Becca said that the inspiration for this die set is all about the Note Card. As someone who loves to drop a little notecard into lunch boxes, drop them into packages, and even leaves them on the door for delivery people – this is quick and easy. Die-cut 10 of the lattice petal jackets and 10 of the 3″ (or 3×6 for a folded note) notes for inside and you’ll always be ready with a stunning note.

Here are some ideas that will inspire you to create with the foldover elements:
1. A box with the foldover as the lid
2. Notecards (there is even a closure piece)
3. A sweet, petite basket

Dies for my creations today were supplied by Amazing Paper Grace.

There are 14 dies included in the Lattice Petal Foldover.

My Projects Today using Lattice Petal Foldover.

My first project above using this fabulous die set is a basket!  I used the beautiful intricate foldover petal elements to create flaps for the  basket, and then used the lacy square for two sides of the box.  The box is dainty and measures 4″ height and 3″ width.

Designer Tip: Cut out the main 4-petal die piece with it’s intricate overlay, and then cut to separate each of the four foldover petals to create flaps for your basket.  Create a hinge to attach each of these petals to your basket by taking a sturdy piece of cardstock measuring 2 1/2″ x 1″ and scoring this in half down the short 1″ side (you will have 1/2″ x 1/2″ on either side of the score line).  Fold along the score line and line up, center, and adhere the straight edge of one of the petals to the score line.  Now take this piece and center and adhere the remaining 1/2″ x 2 1/2″ piece of exposed cardstock to the inside of your constructed box, making sure to line up the score line to the top of the box.  Apply decorative paper to cover the hinge.

My second project is an altered wood box.  I covered the box with the beautiful papers from Pion Design’s Garden of Hope and then used the entire die cut with the four extended petals as the centerpiece for the design on the box top.
