Christmas Accordion Card and Cottage

Hello!  This matching Christmas card and below cottage were made using papers from Pion Design’s vintage Christmas Wishes collection.

Accordion cards are great for displaying photos.  This card die by Elizabeth Craft Designs is easy to use and makes card making simple!  I am going to try to get my hands on some more of these accordion dies as there are other shapes that would be great to have.

So this matching Christmas cottage is a wood birdhouse I picked up at Michael’s.  I covered it with the gorgeous vintage papers and then added the Tim Holtz Idea-ology Santa and Trophy Antlers.  I was wondering what I could use these for, and as it turned out, they worked great for this project.
Now I have some previews to share with you of Pion Design’s upcoming two new collections – Our Furry Friends and Days Gone By.  Both of these collections will be released in January. They are simply stunning!
I wish you a wonderful, meaningful holiday season filled with the people you love most, great food, and wonderful memories!

Christmas Ornaments

Hello!  Today I have 10 handmade paper ornaments to post.  All are made with different paper collections from Pion Design, including their new Christmas collection Christmas Wishes.  These ornaments can also be found on Pion Design’s Oct. 25 blog post here.  I have included the links for the tutorials at the bottom of this post.   There are many seasons of our life when we get so busy that it’s great to be able to draw on the talents of others for our inspiration.  I am really looking forward to a more quiet season of my life where I can spend more time with family and the things I love most, including paper crafting!

Here is the link for the tutorial for the first seven ornaments
Here is the link for the tutorial for the pink and blue #8 ornament.
And here is the link for the tutorial for the above #9 green origami ornament.
Which one is your favorite? 🙂
As the cooler weather brings the changing seasons, I wish you all a wonderful holiday season!

Venetian Jester Mask

Hi!  I hope everyone is doing great and enjoying the transition of the seasons!  I used the “Summer Falls Into Autumn” Pion Design papers to make this project. This post can also be found on the Pion Design Blog for Sept. 23 here. This Venetian Jester Mask was easy to make – just pick up a plain, inexpensive, plastic white mask from your local craft store and then cut pieces of different papers to glue on the front of the mask.  Outline each of the different pieces with gemstones.  Make the top jester flaps by doubling thick cardstock and then adhere the longer triangular ends of each flap to the top of the mask so that the pointed ends can be bent forward and downward.  I used the matching, sturdy Pion Design Palette for the flaps.  Glue ribbon on each side of the mask to be able to tie the mask around the back of the head.  Decorate with lace trim, gemstones, flowers, and bells.  This project is a fast and easy one – perfect for Halloween or a masquerade party!

Pion Design is releasing another Christmas paper collection!  It promises to be just as beautiful and special as all their other collections, and I’ve included a preview of this upcoming collection.
Pion Design proudly presents Christmas Wishes, a traditional Christmas collection embracing the magic of the holiday! More information coming soon!
