This Advent Calendar is one of the wonderful projects on the Crafter’s Companion website. It has 24 drawers total, with 6 on each side of the box. Although I do have the Ultimate Crafter’s Companion Pro and can easily make the project with this tool, I decided that individually cutting and scoring 24 boxes and box covers was too time-consuming so I ended up making the project on the Pazzles Inspiration. The annual Pazzles 12 day Christmas Challenge has started and the first project for the Challenge is the “Giant Rosette” which I’ve included on the box top.
This layout uses the soft papers of Pion Design. My intention is to take a photo of my 5 grandchildren together Christmas Eve and then place a sepia conversion of the photo onto the layout. I participated in the Pion Design Blog November Challenge and the template below shows the pattern for the Challenge.
The Pion Design angels are so lovely and delicate. I included this second picture because it is a little darker and shows the colors differently. I couldn’t decide which picture I liked the best so I included them both!
I used the Magnolia DooHickeys poinsettia die to make the pink flowers.
I wanted to show of close-up of the beautiful Pion Design Nativity scene.
These Explosion Boxes are well-known on the internet, but I’m enclosing the WPC cutting file for it for anyone with that capability. Here is a good YouTube manual template. I found these beautiful 2013 monthly vintage calendar pictures on Etsy and plan on using them for several different projects. The inspiration for using the monthly calendar for the Explosion Box came from Marianne.
