Happy New Year!  I hope you had a wonderful holiday season!  Pion Design has released another beautiful paper collection called The Songbird’s Secret.  The shades of pastel blues in this collection are simply beautiful. I designed this chipboard ferris wheel to look as close as possible to a real one.  I did use a Sizzix die for the fence, a Spellbinders die for the door and front bottom corners, and a Pazzles cutting file found here for the windowed passenger carriers. The ferris wheel was constructed of chipboard and then covered with these awesome blue papers.  I would be grateful if you could check out this post on the
Jan. 6 Pion Design blog here.

The Songbird’s Secret is an enchanting collection featuring dreamcatchers, bird nests and beautiful florals in a soft color palette, certain to brighten up your day. Here is a preview of the collection and you can see the entire collection at Pion Design here.

I also want to introduce another beautiful collection that has also been recently released by Pion Design.

With inspiration from an untamed flourishing rose garden, Pion Design presents the paper collection Where the Roses Grow. This collection will evoke the feeling of strolling in a picturesque garden surrounded by the scent and beauty of flowers in bloom. With delicate attention to detail and a dusty rose color palette you will find that this collection brings flair to every crafting project.  Be sure to check out this entire collection at Pion Design here.

Hi Sue, One of the best things I did (hobby-wise) was to invest in a cutter. It makes paper crafting so much easier! I appreciate your comment and hope you have a great weekend! Tara

Did you use a cutter for cutting the chipboard? If so, which one? Are you sharing the cutting files for the file other than the ones you used from Pazzles and Spellbinders? I LOVE your project, and would love to be able to make this. It is gorgeous!

    1. Tara Brown

Hi Julie, Yes I used the Pazzles Inspiration to cut the circles and intersecting lines for the ferris wheel. That way I could make sure the circles were perfectly round and the intersecting lines were perfectly straight. For this project, I used the Silhouette thin chipboard and cut out 3 of each piece since the chipboard is pretty thin. Silhouette chipboard is easily cut by the Inspiration and by stacking and glueing the chipboard pieces together, it gives greater thickness and strength to the project pieces. I don’t have a cutting file prepared for this project yet, but may make another one using different papers from one of Pion Design’s collections and when I do, I’ll include cutting files and templates. I hope you and your family have a great weekend! Tara
