Matchbox Chest

This project is a little time-consuming to make but it makes a wonderful gift.  The little matchbox drawers can be stuffed with fun things like costume jewelry and candy.  This one is decorated with Pion Design’s “A Day in May” collection.  The frame was originally a turquoise color so it got several coats of ivory paint and then was accented with brown paint.  You can find this project on the Pion Design Blog here.  The little matchbox cutting file came from the Pazzles library here.

Absolutely stunning work here again Tara, I really love the resulr, you´ve achieved, it´s sooo gorgeous and filled with lovely details everywhere.
I was checking on Pions blog too, but you don´t mention anything about what it is you´ve used for the edge on top and the frame on the side? Could you tell, what you used for that, and where you´ve got it from?? It looks fabulous, you´ve really done an awesome job on this. Have a wonderful week ahead here now.

Hi Maryann, The chipboard trim at the top is from Dusty Attic and I believe it’s called “Garden Frame.” I painted it white. After glueing all the matchboxes together, I measured and cut chipboard to frame the sides, top, back, and bottom of the project. I added a pull-out drawer at the bottom. I am going to try to find time this weekend to work on a tutorial to post on my blog just for you. Thank you for your thoughtfulness as you are so sweet and kind to leave encouraging comments. I appreciate your comments so much! Have a good week and take care! Tara

Thank you so much for taking the time to reply, I really apreciate that. really love your awesome work always and wish I was just half as good to come up with the ideas for these things as you are. They are truly amazing and always sooo well done in every little detail, and you are a huge inspiration for me, that´s for sure, also even I don´t make exact the same things, then I get many great ideas from your work first, which is invaluable fofr me too, as I´m not the best to think out the ideas, so I´m glad you can inspire my mind a bit to renew myself too.
Have a wonderful day and lots of fun.
