Here is another inexpensive unfinished wood product I picked up from Michael’s that’s ready for decorating. I stained this box with Walnut color then added My Mind’s Eye papers along with rhinestones, a rose using the Spellbinders Rose Creations die, eyelets with twine lacing, burlap, Kaiser Craft wood painted clock, and a LaBlanche Mona Lisa stamp. After decorating, I misted the whole box with Tattered Angels Suede Glimmer Mist which gave it an even more vintage look.
Here’s a close-up of the rose made from the Spellbinders Rose Creations die.
Here you can see a photo of the unfinished box:
This simple pink card is designed with a decorative front pocket that holds a tag. I’ve used 6″ Pion Design papers for this card and decorated it with a Cheery Lynn Design doily, pearls, flowers, sewing, and seam binding. The children stamp on the back of the card was made with heat embossing.
Michael’s has these wood picture frames for $1.00 which is an unbeatable price and they’re perfect for altering any way you want. I started by applying some Kaiser Craft newsprint paper onto the wood frame with decoupage glue. I then applied some gesso which softens the colors. I mixed some pale blue acrylic paint with stucco texture gel and randomly applied it in different areas. The upper right and lower left corner texture stamps were made using heat embossing. I then decorated the frame with ivory scalloped lace, flowers, rhinestones, a painted metal corner, a painted chipboard swirl and wood Kaiser Craft heart. The chipboard letters have been splashed with some glass beads gel. The frame edges were brushed with Tim Holtz Walnut Stain Distress Ink to give it a more vintage shabby look. The beautiful baby is little Noah at age 3 months.
Here are some close-ups that show the textures better:
